Colinet, a small town in Newfoundland and Labrador, was incorporated in 1974.  The town, which is located in the northwest arm of St. Mary’s Bay, is historically known as a fishing and lumbering community.  Home to the Colinet and Rocky Rivers, it is well known for its salmon fishing and natural beauty.  Colinet is approximately 88 km from St. John’s and 42 km from the Argentia Ferry. The latest Census (2021) places Colinet at a population of 103.

Visitors to the area can take in the man-made salmon ladder on  Rocky River Falls or visit the nearby Cataracts Provincial Park. This park is built around a deep river gorge with two cascading waterfalls which are accessible by a series of boardwalk trails.  Visitors can also enjoy a trip to nearby Salmonier Nature Park which boasts a 2.7 km boardwalk trail, along which are placed sensitively designed wildlife enclosures.
